About this event

Join us on Zoom for a chillingly silly Brightly Storytime LIVE—plus a frightfully fun virtual costume parade!

Whether you celebrate Halloween, Día de los Muertos, or just love the spooky season, this storytime will get every little ghoul and ghost excited for treats, tricks, and thrilling (fright-free) tales! This event features stories that are more sweet than scary, with a mash-up of friendly monsters ready to teach little readers to not always judge a boooook by its cover.

Join us before the stories begin for the chance to show off your own spooktacular costumes, and submit your child’s question to the authors for a chance to have it answered live! [Opt-ins will be available via registration.] Make the moment even more exciting with an exclusive downloadable activity packet, delivered via email the week before the event.

Have fun with Brightly Storytime host Ms. Linda as you tune in for readings from:

Schedule of Events & How to Participate in the Costume Parade

1:00 pm – 1:15 pm ETCostume parade with Ms. Linda

Join us before the stories start for a fun costume parade! We encourage you and your little ones to get creative and tune in wearing your own festive outfits, whether you appear in the parade or are just watching. We’ll be pulling up select audience volunteers “on-stage” to show off their creations and chat a bit with Ms. Linda. If you’d like to volunteer to possibly be a part of the parade on camera, please indicate via the Parade opt-in when you register for the event.* You’re also welcome to join us in the audience to watch and get inspired by all the amazing costumes!*[Note: This portion of the event will not be recorded. Due to event time, not all volunteers may be selected to appear on camera.]

1:15 pm – 2:00 pm ET: Live storytime with authors

We’ll go straight from the parade into a series of live readings by our featured authors. Each author will share their own silly, spooky story with live page flip-throughs and will then answer select audience questions. If you’d like to submit a question for the authors to possibly answer, please include via the Question prompt when you register for the event.
