The Dark Knight and the Man of Steel meet for the very first time—but this adventure takes them to a place far beyond the world they know to places they never thought existed.

Every small town hides a secret. This one has a few dozen… and a magical cat who knows them all.
After leaving her enchanted hometown behind, Lo Heal-Park thought she’d finally found a quiet life in Celestial Falls—complete with a charming bakery, a suspiciously talkative cat, and a second date with the local vet. But when a beloved town elder is found dead under mysterious circumstances and strange magical pulses begin rippling through the streets, Lo’s hopes for a fresh start vanish like sugar on a hot skillet.
Now, with her unexpected spiritual gifts waking up and a magical crack in the town’s foundation threatening to burst wide open, Lo has to sift through secrets, seal old spells, and figure out who—or what—is stirring ancient magic from its slumber. All without burning the biscuits.
Warm, witty, and just a little wicked, Wand, Waffles & Whispers is the delicious first course in a new cozy mystery series perfect for fans of spellbinding small towns, cinnamon-sweet suspense, and heroines who stir up more than just batter.
Because in Celestial Falls, even the magic has a sweet tooth… and it’s hungry.

A magical novel with delicious bake goods that will decipher the mystery behind the death of Odessa. Lo Heal Park is figuring out her magical powers. Odessa’s death will help Lo solve the mystery with the crack under the town that was sparking magic that was holding something evil from being unleashed in the real world and solving Odessa’s murder. I had fun with Skylar Blue (a cat), whom Lo can speak with. Skylar, with her southern sass, had me giggling throughout the story. Let’s not forget the romantic sparks between the love triangle. Who will Lo fall in love with? Lo is part of two worlds, the magical and the real world. She will protect both worlds with her life.

I got this book at BookCon in NYC a few years ago. I got to meet Stacy, who was very sweet. I enjoyed this book because I love animals. The pictures were nicely done. It’s a great book to teach children the cycle of baby turtles and the obstacles they have to overcome before heading to their real home in the ocean. Thanks for the extra info about turtles.

We had such a great time at Champagne at Collinwood (Lyndhurst Mansion). It was super humid but gorgeous out to have some champagne and appetizers. We were able to walk through the mansion and have a chat with the Dark Shadow cast members.
If you live near Tarrytown, NY, don’t forget to tour the mansion.
It’s another year of the Dark Shadows Weekend at the Lyndhurst Mansion. In attendance was Kathryn Leigh Scott, Marie Wallace, Donna McKechnie, Sharon Smyth, and Grayson Hall son Matthew Hall.
I met Kathryn and Marie two years ago. I also attended the event they did last year and met Sharon and another cast member.

Won this book from GoodReads. The images were perfectly done. I enjoyed reading the whole formation of how these monsters came about. I had no idea that radiation was the key to keeping these monsters active. I need to go see the movie now. My brother loves Godzilla.
Barnyard Bully is about the importance of friendship and is told by the animals that live on a farm. It begins when a small horse named Jake arrives at the farm and turns to bullying to try and fit in. Through a course of events Jake finds himself in terrible danger and badly in need of friends. Barnyard Bully offers excitement, humor and insight into the daily lives of the barnyard buddies while teaching about friendship and lessons learned.
My Review: Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Won this book from GoodReads. I really enjoyed this book of how a horse was a bully in a barnyard and later on found out that the way you treat someone will be the way you will be treated. He needed help, and no one wanted to help him for being a bully. It’s a great book to read to elementary children. It’s hard fitting in at school, work, and society at times. People who are lonely and have been mistreated will tend to be a bully because it’s there way of standing up for themselves and showing people that they are the leader, while oppressing all their fears and hurts. There have been a number of suicides in the past years because of people getting bullied at school. Kids and teenagers want to fit in and not look like an outcast. They want to be with the popular crew so that they are accepted. I love that Donna added references about the different animals. The cover really reflected the characters in the book. I recommend this book.
Nothing brings a family together like a murder next door.
A lighthearted whodunnit about a grandmother-mother-daughter trio of amateur sleuths. Gilmore Girls , but with murder.
High-powered businesswoman Lana Rubicon has a lot to be proud her keen intelligence, impeccable taste, and the L.A. real estate empire she’s built. But when she finds herself trapped 300 miles north of the city, convalescing in a sleepy coastal town with her adult daughter Beth and teenage granddaughter Jack, Lana is stuck counting otters instead of square footage—and hoping that boredom won’t kill her before the cancer does.

Beth thinks Lana should focus on recovery, but Lana has a better idea. She’ll pull on her wig, find the true murderer, protect her family, and prove she still has power. Author Biography
I write crime stories about strong women. My first novel, MOTHER-DAUGHTER MURDER NIGHT, is a New York Times bestselling mystery about a grandma, single mom, and teenage girl who come together to solve the murder of a naturalist who washes up in the Monterey Bay.
Writing has always been my joy. In college, I was an electrical engineering student by day and a slam poet by night. After a brief stint at NASA, I started designing interactive exhibits and eventually became a museum director. I wrote two books of nonfiction about creating participatory, relevant cultural institutions. Nonprofits were my “real” job; writing was on the side.
Then, my mom got sick. I quit my job to help care for her, and I found myself turning to fiction as a way to escape and find some pleasure during a hard time. My mom and I both always loved mysteries, and I decided to try to write one myself, with a detective/hero based on my mother. Now, my mom is doing better, and I’m gratefully spending my days reading, writing, and caring for my family.
