Goodreads Blurb

A BEAST LIVING IN THE SHADOW OF HIS PAST

Reclusive and severely scarred Prince Adam Delacroix has remained hidden inside a secluded, decrepit castle ever since he witnessed his family’s brutal massacre. Cloaked in shadow, with only the lamentations of past ghosts for company, he has abandoned all hope, allowing the world to believe he died on that tragic eve twenty-five years ago.

A BEAUTY IN PURSUIT OF A BETTER FUTURE

Caught in a fierce snowstorm, beautiful and strong-willed Isabelle Rose seeks shelter at a castle—unaware that its beastly and disfigured master is much more than he appears to be. When he imprisons her gravely ill and blind father, she bravely offers herself in his place.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Stripped of his emotional defenses, Adam’s humanity reawakens as he encounters a kindred soul in Isabelle. Together they will wade through darkness and discover beauty and passion in the most unlikely of places. But when a monster from Isabelle’s former life threatens their new love, Demrov’s forgotten prince must emerge from his shadows and face the world once more…

Perfect for fans of Beauty and the Beast and The Phantom of the OperaBeauty of the Beast brings a familiar and well-loved fairy tale to life with a rich setting in the kingdom of Demrov and a captivating, Gothic voice.

My Review: Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Love over come’s all!! This was one the best retelling of Beauty and the Beast. This was the first book I had read from Rachel, and I just couldn’t put it down. It was a dark retelling that filled my heart with sadness, strength, love, perseverance, and loyalty. Adam and Isabelle were totally made for each other. Adam was badly scarred from his past and was viewed as the beast because of his disfigurement while having a beast of a dog as his companion. Isabelle was filled with hurt and worry but together took down Adam’s fear of the past and brought happiness to each other. Rachel is a true storyteller who grasps the reader attention by her intense moments of fright and helplessness to some hot, intense lovemaking. I highly recommend this book with Prince Adam and Isabelle true love story.

Review: My Fair Duchess by Megan Frampton

Goodreads Blurb

Archibald Salisbury, son of a viscount, war hero, and proficient in the proper ways of aristocratic society, has received orders for his most challenging mission: Genevieve, Duchess of Blakesley. How she inherited a duchy isn’t his problem. Turning her into a perfect duchess is. But how can he keep his mind on business when her beauty entices him toward pleasure?

It was impossible, unprecedented…and undeniably true. Genevieve is now a “duke”, or, rather, a duchess. So what is she to do when the ton eyes her every move, hoping she’ll make a mistake? Genevieve knows she has brains and has sometimes been told she has beauty, but, out of her depth, she calls on an expert. And what an expert, with shoulders broad enough to lean on, and a wit that matches her own. Archie is supposed to teach her to be a lady and run her estate, but what she really wants to do is unladylike—run into his arms.

My Review: Rated 5 out of 5 stars

War hero meets duchess in need of guidance. I just finished reading, and I can still see steam coming out of the book with all the spicy scenes. The plot for this book was genius since a woman wouldn’t have been able to run an estate. I love happily ever after novels. I loved the attraction between Archie and Genevieve. Both are strong characters who stand up for what they love and their duty. I was cracking up with the notes they wrote back and forth while they were in the same house. It was great to be able to know each characters true thoughts of their feelings. Highly recommend this fun romance filled with laughs and hot loving.

Review: Kilts and Dagger by Victoria Roberts

Goodreads Blurb

Ever since Lady Grace Walsingham discovered her uncle and sister are spies for the Crown, she has yearned for adventure. She’s counting the days until she can leave barbaric Scotland behind, even if she must endure Highland captain Fagan Murray’s company for weeks.

Fagan has a simple mission: escort the haughty Lady Grace back to England. But nothing is ever easy. The sharp-tongued woman needles him at every turn. But when a menacing threat follows them on their journey, Fagan’s grudging tolerance for Grace turns to respect…and into a perilous attraction that could seal their fate.

My Review: Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This was another show stopper written by Victoria. It deserved more than a five-star. I was having a ball reading Grace and Fagan arguing back and forth. Loved that Grace spoke her mind and didn’t let men overpower her decisions. Fagan’s love for Grace could be seen from the beginning, by the way he protected her. Love that Grace was able to see she had feelings for Fagan even though she didn’t like highlanders. Grace totally made this story with her clumsiness and wanting to be a spy at any cost. She is strong-willed for being captured and not afraid of speaking her mind even though it costs her later. Her betrothed was a total jerk who beat women and hid behind their skirts in order to protect himself. I am very happy about the whole outcome. Grace deserved Fagan, the man who stood his ground and became Grace’s husband. Can’t wait to read the next book Victoria writes. Highly recommend this book.

Review: Big Blue Sky by Hildie McQueen

Goodreads Blurb

Left to raise his infant son alone, a hardened Hank Cole is determined to make the best of it while prospering his ranch, but when a beautiful woman literally lands on his doorstep, he is helpless against the attraction between them.

Elizabeth Dawson is too outspoken for gentle society, but she may be the perfect match for a tough Montana cowboy.

A story of two very different people who belong together, proof that sometimes fate can have a sense of humor when it comes to love.

My Review: Rated 5 out of 5 stars

What a small book with deep emotions. I was heartbroken with what Hank had to go through because of a woman. He deserved more for being a gentleman who is loving and affectionate. Then I got to the chapter on Elizabeth and was in tears, too, have to go through such devastation and lost. Losing someone right in front of you without being able to help them is beyond words. As I kept on reading, I found out that she is the niece of Betty who babysits Hanks Child. She is very tricky but knew that they would be perfect for each other. I was in utter shock to find out who the man that Elizabeth dreamed about. What a coincidence or should I say premonition. This book was full of sadness and despair at the beginning but ended with a happily ever after. They both deserved themselves.

Review: Kill or Be Kilt by Victoria Roberts

Goodreads Blurb

Lady Elizabeth Walsingham pined after the same man for years. When she finally realizes the brawny Highland laird doesn’t return her feelings, she decides to leave for London and start anew. It seems that her prayers are answered when she catches the eye of a charming actor at the Globe Theatre – a man who is the complete opposite of the Highlander she once loved.

Laird Ian Monroe spends his time avoiding the bothersome young girl who dreams of their union. But when he travels to London and discovers that she has a new love interest with a dishonorable agenda, his perspective changes. Ian soon realizes that Elizabeth is no longer a child with a crush, but a beautiful woman in need of his help. He may have what it takes to rescue Elizabeth from her scheming beau, but does he have the courage to reclaim Elizabeth’s heart as well?

My Review: Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Highland Spies series. Was very happy that after three years Ian has come back to see his friend Ruairi. The chemistry between Elizabeth and Ian still has sparks. As much as he doesn’t want to show weakness that he has fallen for Elizabeth, he just can’t help himself following and protecting her. I was laughing at how he was following her all over the court and was jealous. He still can’t get over that she is a lot younger and strikingly beautiful. Ian doesn’t think he has any good looks and feels that lasses don’t really love him. To find out the after three years Elizabeth loves him, he just can’t see the possibility of it being true. Love conquers no matter age and beauty. Love that this story has a murder mystery made the book very interesting. Thanks, Victoria, for another amazing story with some Highlanders. Please don’t miss out on this book and series.

My Review: Rated 5 out of 5 stars

My review for TARTANS AND TRYSTS by Victoria Roberts. I loved the first book in this story and truly was happy to see that this continuation was entertaining . Doughall and Sorcha were the perfect characters for this twisting story. I couldn’t believe all the things that Sorcha’s father did just for him to be in power. When family turns against you, it’s very hard to get over it. I was happy that Sorcha went above her family in order to protect herself and to find her cousin safe. I was satisfied with the outcome of her father. Loved the romance between Doughall and Sorcha. This story has deceit, lies, death, romance, and the hot highlander defending his true love. Awesome highlander story.

Review: The Lady Travelers Guide to Larceny with a Dashing Stranger

Goodreads Blurb

She must secure her future

A lady should never be obliged to think of matters financial! But when Lady Wilhelmina Bascombe’s carefree, extravagant lifestyle vanishes with the demise of her husband, her only hope lies in retrieving a family treasure—a Renaissance masterpiece currently in the hands of a cunning art collector in Venice. Thankfully, the Lady Travelers Society has orchestrated a clever plan to get Willie to Europe, leading a tour of mothers and daughters…and one curiously attentive man.

He must reclaim his heritage

Dante Augustus Montague’s one passion has long been his family’s art collection. He’s finally tracked a long-lost painting to the enchanting Lady Bascombe. Convinced that the canvas had been stolen, he will use any means to reclaim his birthright—including deception. But how long before pretend infatuation gives way to genuine desire?

Now they’re rivals for a prize that will change everything

Willie and Dante know they’re playing with fire in the magical moonlit city. Their common quest could compromise them both…or lead them to happily-ever-after.

My Review: Rated 4 out of 5 stars

What a great story to continue with the series. I loved all the drama and girl power throughout the book. The sparks between Dante and Willie were so humorous and romantic. One painting brought two strangers together with love, adventure, and happiness. I loved the wonderful adventures they all had throughout the book. The descriptions of their travels were great, which made me feel like I was part of the travelers.

Review: The Lady Travelers Guide to Scoundrels & Other Gentlemen by Victoria Alexander

Goodreads Blurb

Really, it’s too much to expect any normal man to behave like a staid accountant in order to inherit the fortune he deserves to support the lifestyle of an earl. So when Derek Saunders’s favourite elderly aunt and her ill-conceived—and possibly fraudulent—Lady Travelers Society loses one of their members, what’s a man to do but step up to the challenge? Now he’s escorting the world’s most maddening woman to the world’s most romantic city to find her missing relative.

While India Prendergast only suspects his organisation defrauds gullible travelers, she’s certain a man with as scandalous a reputation as Derek Saunders cannot be trusted any farther than the distance around his very broad shoulders. As she struggles not to be distracted by his wicked smile and the allure of Paris, instead of finding a lost lady traveler, India just may lose her head, her luggage and her heart.

My Review: Rated 4 out of 5 Stars

It’s such a fun book filled with surprises. I love Paris and was truly excited that this story took place there. I love that India was a strong character and was extremely smart. Who wouldn’t love a book filled with romance in Paris, the city of light. India and Derek despised each other, but after spending some alone time together, they were able to get to know each other and see that they both judged a book by its cover. I laughed so much with Percival being so outlandish toward India. The ladies of the Travelers guide were hilarious. I am happy with the whole outcome of the book. I loved the idea of women having assistance to travel by themselves, which I know at that time it wasn’t possible. It truly portrayed women as dependable, smart, and spontaneous.
