My Review: Rated 4 out of 5 stars

A thriller by the author of The Plot will leave the reader on a wild goose chase with Anna Williams-Bonner to bury her hidden past at any cost. Anna isn’t who everyone thinks she is. So be wary of what information you might know about Anna, or she may silence you. Anna was living her best life until her past knocked on her door again. Who might know about her past, and will they expose her secrets? The readers are in for a roller coaster ride with a character fearlessly fighting to keep her skeletons locked in her childhood home.

The story started slow at the beginning. Halfway through the book, it starts getting thrilling. As the story went on, I wondered who might be behind all the threats, and I wasn’t really sure. I was surprised at how the story turned out. I knew that Anna would be the winner in the end. This character is intelligent, deceiving, and ten steps ahead of everyone. She is also not scared of getting into situations that might end in death for her or someone else. She is a manipulator and sneaky. I liked that the story provided more context on the deaths that occurred in the previous book. Making Anna a writer in this sequel was ironic and brilliant. If you haven’t, I hope you decide to read The Plot and pick up The Sequel to continue this plot twist.

My Review: Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Mr. Stine knows how to spook even an adult. I just don’t like the idea of a talking dummy coming to life, let alone a whole bunch of dolls. Another perfectly written story that will scare anyone. Becareful of your next birthday present because it might come to life.

A family of killers will have an unforgettable reunion. Each member has not only killed someone, but they have a closet full of skeletons that will unleash an unexpected family member who will bring to light the mystery of this family. Ernest narrates the story and brings funny moments to the story of Whodunit. Can the writer Ernest put together the puzzle pieces?

The story includes ten characters who each have killed someone. Ernest narrates the story for each character by dividing the book into parts by family members and going over what the family members did and how he got involved. He did a fantastic job connecting the dots for each murder and having Ernest tell everyone his conclusion about who the murderer was and why this all occurred.

The story was a little slow, but it piqued my interest after he spoke to his brother Michael, and the deaths and mysteries were unraveling. I expected the story to turn out differently than it did. Too much was at stake, with too many secrets. This story shows how money can cover any secret.

I couldn’t wait to receive an ARC copy of Jean Hanff Korelitz, who wrote The Plot, which had a twisted ending. The follow-up to her previous book is The Sequel. The book cover on the right is the book written by the character Anna Williams-Bonner. A review will follow when I’m done reading it.
